Is the GPT / Protocol still available?
ASE and Subnet Solutions are no longer selling the GPT / Protocol to new customers. Current customers of either ASE’s GPT or Subnet’s Protocol will be fully supported under the current arrangements. For any additional requirements for GPT / Protocol products, please contact the initial source code provider (ASE or Subnet Solutions).

What is the difference between the GPT and Protocol products?
This product was originally developed by ASE and marketed as the GPT product. As the result of a marketing and product partnering agreement between ASE and SUBNET Solutions, the GPT has been renamed to Protocol and is now being handled as a Partnered Product between the two companies. Under this agreement, SUBNET Solutions is handling all sales and support of the product to new Protocol customers and ASE will provide sales and support of the product to existing GPT customers and remain involved at the product development level implementing new features and support for new protocols. Where can I obtain current pricing information for the GPT / Protocol product?
If you are a GPT customer (purchased product directly from ASE), Please contact ASE sales for an up-to-date price list or to request a formal quotation. How do I get technical support for the GPT / Protocol product?
You should first check the FAQ’s and Knowledge Database for the GPT / Protocol product. Answers to the most commonly asked questions and problems encountered can be found in these on-line resources. If you can not find the answer or solution on-line, you can contact technical support by e-mail, telephone, and Fax. If you are a GPT customer (purchased product directly from ASE), please contact ASE support ( support@ase-systems.com or 408-364-0500). How do I obtain software updates for GPT / Protocol product?
There are no periodic or scheduled updates for the GPT or Protocol software. After the initial delivery of the software, subsequent releases to a customer are normally only made in order to correct a problem or add a special feature required for the customer’s application.

Does ASE provide protocol documentation for the protocol support I purchase?
In general, no. Due to copyright restrictions ASE is prohibited from distributing protocol specification documentation. The best option is to contact the RTU or IED manufacturer and request documentation for the specific protocol. Also, if it is a standards based protocol such as DNP 3, Modbus, or IEC, you can obtain documentation from the organization managing the protocol.

How do I find out which protocols are supported on the GPT / Protocol product?
From our web site, select the Products links and then select the Supported Protocols link. The Supported Protocols page lists all the protocols supported across the entire ASE product line. For the GPT / Protocol products , only protocols shown with a support code “A” in the column labeled “Protocol (GPT)” are supported. If you need support for a protocol that is not listed, you can contact ASE or Subnet Solutions sales support for a quote on new protocol implementation.

Does ASE have an Evaluation copy of the GPT / Protocol product ?
No, there is no evaluation copy of this product. Since it is provided is source code form, there is no practical means for evaluation. Interested parties can obtain the programming documentation which will provide some insight as to the amount of effort required to incorporate the GPT / Protocol software in their product. ASE or Subnet sales support will be happy to discuss your requirements to insure that GPT / Protocol is the correct solution for the problem being solved.
